Message from Chapter President

I cannot believe how fast the summer went by! As the season is ending for most of us, I wanted again to thank all the volunteers who worked so hard to make the year a huge success. From the league and outing captains to the board members, it takes a dedicated team of ladies to plan and coordinate the golf and social events all year. They truly are the “caddies who carry our club”. We kicked off the year with a Happy Hour in February, a Bucket & Suds event in March and the season opener Kick Off in April. Then it was golf, golf, golf all summer. Our last golf event of the season was the Fall Banquet and Golf Outing at Hillendale in October. The golf was fantastic, the weather cooperated and we watched a beautiful sunset from the patio.

The weather may be getting too cold for golf but our off-season is just heating up. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 14th for our annual Holiday Party to be held at Rolling Road Golf Club in Catonsville. More details will follow with a flyer for registration. The winter months will be busy with social events and possibly an indoor golf event. Stay tuned!

If you have been thinking about giving back to EWGA, now is the time. We have a few open board positions for the 2012 year. Social, Communications, Leadership, and Golf League chair positions are open. Volunteers are needed for “one and done” tasks, outing captains, and various committees.  Let me know if you’re interested in being and EWGA “caddy”!

Thanks,

Sharon Waller

FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM AMBER RIVERA

Dear EWGA sisters:

You may already have heard the news, but I wanted to take a moment to let you know that Reuben and I are leaving Maryland and relocating to Arizona in just over two weeks.  Reuben was recently scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan for a year and thankfully that assignment was cancelled; however, it meant a new job for him and so he is being reassigned to Fort Huachuca located in Sierra Vista, AZ (near Tucson).  This is the final stepping stone in Reuben's career and puts us closer to our "retirement" home in Phoenix.

I have enjoyed my time here and I appreciate having had the opportunity to play golf and socialize with you over the past 8 years.  I will always remember the Baltimore Chapter and how much fun I've had being part of it.  Some of us see each other often, and many of us only see each other during golf season at chapter events, but nonetheless, you all have a special place in my heart and memories that will travel with me.

I wish you the best of luck in all you do and I hope that EWGA continues to provide you with new friendships and new golf adventures.  I will be continuing my membership and really hope that this isn't good-bye...just so long until I see you again.  My cell phone and email address will remain the same so if you happen to be in Tucson, Arizona and need a place to stay, or want to play golf, I hope you'll call me.  My door will always be open!

Thank you for your friendship, chapter support, and for all the memories!
Enjoy your holidays and have a blessed 2012!

Very sincerely,

Amber Rivera
